Saturday November 3rd 10 a.m.  Parade begins at Chatham St. and Academy St. , turns south on Academy St. to the Cary Arts Center then down Walnut St. to the High School. (Parade clears Downtown about 11:30 a.m.) Parade Marshals for 2012: Daphne and Ralph Ashworth Renee Chou, of WRAL-5 will be our celebrity emcee. A half-century ago in the fall, the Cary School Band would march through the streets of Downtown and everyone would join them forming a parade of cars with merchant signs on them, neighborhood groups and makeshift floats. It wasn’t called Cary Band Day Parade back then but over the years it’s become a tradition in our Downtown. The 54th edition of the Parade is coming up this weekend.
